Good questions, straight answers

Your Questions, Answered

Will the price move once work is underway?

It stays put. Whatever you've signed off on before we pick up a tool is what lands on the invoice, regardless of what the job turns up underground.

What does "$65 off your first service" cover?

A flat $65 comes straight off the price of your first job with us.

Is there a fee just to have you come out?

None at all. Nothing changes hands purely for the visit. Whatever you pay goes toward actually fixing the drain, not toward us showing up.

What are my options for paying?

Card, bank transfer or cash, your call. The figure was locked in before anyone touched a tool, so nothing extra sneaks onto the bill afterward.

How many years has your team spent on drains?

15+ years' experience backs the crew, from brittle Victorian earthenware pipework through to newer stormwater and sewer fitouts.

Who shows up when I book a job?

Expect the same handful of faces rather than a rotating roster of subbies. The director is still hands-on with jobs, and one team member's entire focus is the sewer and drain cases nobody else could crack.

Is your team properly licensed for this work?

It is. NSW Plumbing Licence #292427C sits behind everything we do, with cover in place across both water and gas under that single licence.

Should I try fixing a blocked drain on my own first?

A plunger is worth a go if it's one fixture acting up. Move to chemical cleaners or a hired electric eel and the odds of cracking or splitting older pipework climb fast. If the same spot keeps blocking, that's a job for a licensed plumber to trace the actual cause, not just clear it again.

At what point does a blocked drain become an emergency?

Waste coming back up through a fixture, standing water in a spot that should stay dry, or the entire house unable to drain properly. Once the property can't use water safely, the job moves to the front of the queue.

Once I've phoned, what's next?

You describe what the drain's doing, and we lock in a time, often that same day.

Are Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays covered?

All of them, without exception. A blocked drain has no interest in the day of the week, so our roster doesn't either.

What's the quickest way to get booked in?

Ring (02) 9134 9097 and it's underway from there. A few questions about what's happening, and a time gets set.

Whose job is it to fix a blocked sewer, mine or Sydney Water's?

The general split is this: everything from the house out to where it ties into the main falls to the owner, and Sydney Water takes over past that tie-in. We work your side of that line and flag it plainly if a fault looks like it sits past it.

Why are tree roots such a common cause of Newtown blockages?

Mature trees packed along the terrace grid send roots straight at the suburb's original clay sewer and stormwater lines.

Why do Newtown's older homes see repeat blockages?

Original earthenware pipework under the Victorian terraces has had well over a century to crack and drop at the joints. That's a structural issue tied to the Federation-era build, not bad luck, so the same section keeps failing until the pipe itself is dealt with.

Which suburbs does your team cover?

Beyond Newtown, the regular run takes in [Camperdown](/blocked-drains-camperdown/), [Stanmore](/blocked-drains-stanmore/), [Marrickville](/blocked-drains-marrickville/), [Annandale](/blocked-drains-annandale/) and [Lewisham](/blocked-drains-lewisham/).
